Thunderbird No 34B 3 Way Gate Anchor
Product Information
Gate anchors are normall screwed onto a wooden post to connect gate handles. The gate handle clicks into one of the holes and you tie your hot tape or braid through another of the 3 holes. It's the fastest and neatest way for creating a gateway.
They can be converted for use on star posts by swapping the supplied insulator with the No 18S steel post insulator. We're happy to do that for you - just let us know.
Now while you can use these to carry the electrical current through the gate handle and off to the rest of the fence - where they're really good is where you run underground cable under your gate, you can connect the cable to this as well with the supplied stainless bolt and nut. That way, when you disconnect the gate handle from the anchor, you haven't disabled all your fencing - only the gate. Clever. Of course you can always be even cleverer by installing a cut out switch instead - but they're dearer and if you're doing a few gates in close succession, you really don't need a cut out swith every 50 metres!
